do, is get a bucket of hot water and soak the tail below the dock. I soak
the tail in there, holding it right below the dock and splash water up onto
the dock. Since I do not use soap in winter, I just let the hot water take
action, and pick out the major mud. Then I comb through it. I have used
Cowboy Magic to help detangle, but I keep it off the dock. I use my short
fingernails to scrub the dock, and a wet cloth to clean under the tail.
You may have to soak it a few times to get it clean. I just stay away from
soap this time of year because it is drying and also if the washing must end
due to the horse being stressed for any reason- or anything interrupting me,
there will be no soap residue. Maybe that is overly cautious, but I do not
have hot water coming from my hose and I must haul it.
Maybe someone has a more brilliant idea~
