Provide clues to the location of "items" - could be an "obscure" description or rhyme for a "landmark" or some sort of "coordinate" (either in orienteering format or something like "ten minutes trotting down trail "B""). Participants need to describe the item. The item could be some text that they would have to write. down to "prove" they found it.Make some "items" pretty easy to find and others harder.

Subject: [haflingerfriends] Scavenger Hunt

I would like to know if anyone out there has any experience with or ideas on how to do a trail ride based scavenger hunt. We are trying to think of a fun horsebased activity to hold as a fund raiser for our local Riding for the Handicapped program. We do a Ride-A-Thon and sometimes a fun show. I was thinking of something a little different, and maybe a scavenger hunt would do the trick. I just need ideas on the logistics, how to structure it what to do. Any ideas out there?
