breed standards developed in Tirol, there are countless chestnut Quarter
Horses, Arabians, Morgans, and pony breeds that would fit the standard. It
simply is not feasible or advisable to use the breed standard to decide if
something is a "Haflinger" or not. That is why so many buyers/owners have
been led astray thinking they own a Haflinger when what they own is a flaxen
maned chestnut horse between 13-2 and 15 hands.
So there has to be some kind of pedigree history before anything like this
can be remotely considered.
