We went on a hunt for the alien fruit. We went to the point where he thought he had found it and there was none in sight. So he led me here and there...and still nothing. At this point I was positive that my husband had lost it.
Then I went through a thicket and almost twisted my ankle. I looked down to see what I was stepping on...and there was a green wrinkly looking ball. Found his green alien fruit. In fact - if you do a search for "weird alien fruit" I think you will find the pictures I took of the one we found & the story to go with it. LOL.
We finally figured out it was a Osage Orange. In my reading I did find they were also called horse apples because horses used to eat them. While that may be the case - I have not rushed out to feed them to my crew.
