Subject: [haflingerfriends] Re: Looking forward, Looking back
That is a very scary thought, I've never been a 'pin up girl' ROTFLMAO.
I'm glad there was no one around with a camera yesterday, I went to ride madam bareback again, and she dumped me!! I was her second victim this week, she dumped a visitor on Sunday, the little rotter. I put Sundays down to the fact that she had a strange rider on, and Rachel was well out of practice, but she did the same to me, a very quick run to the side and a sneaky drop of the shoulder.
Fortunately all the snow around made sure that we both had soft landings, hers was a little better being out in the fields in the deep snow, mine was in the yard and I managed to hit a railway tie, so I have a good looking bruise. It was my first fall since I started riding again, and I'm so glad to have got it over with, after all I knew it had to happen sometime. I was so glad to find that instaed of shaking my confidnce she just made me mad, but in a positive way.
I ended up tacking her up and riding her out just to show her that dumping me means more work, trouble was the reason I had decided to just wander around the yard bareback was because it late and was snowing, so I ended up riding out in the field in half a blizzard just to prove a point.
It's still the best view in the world, I love looking through those golden ears.

It's the epitomy of all my horsey goals, you and your horse look so relaxed and are having fun! Under the picture in large permanent marker I wrote: Marlene's goal 2010!! Just looking at that picture reminds me of why I am on this journey in the first place. It reminded me so much of myself as a young teen on my horse in the Montana winter. I really enjoyed the pictures of the view down the road, seen between golden ears. Thank you so much for sharing. You are truly inspiring.

I've posted some updated pics in the Fancy Ely folder, and yes that's me riding in -20C, bareback!!!! another huge step for woman kind.
