Re: [haflingerfriends] chiropractic

I agree. I'd want some kind of document verifying the chiropractor's training as well as some (at least superficial) knowledge of the school that provided it.

I wonder if Cheesy, Toby's neighboring pinto horse, could use an adjustment. He's not mine and it's not mine to say but he's 18 and displaying that still-necked behavior that some older horses do. You know, not bending much at the poll and looking farther afield out of the corner of their eye because there neck won't bend like it used to?

On the other hand, if he has arthritis in the neck chiropractic work could be no use at all to very harmful. Anyway, that's all conjecture because he's not my horse and I'm just boring you all by thinking with my fingers on the key-board. LOL

Subject: [haflingerfriends] chiropractic

I've never tried a chiropractor for a horse but for myself it really helps for SOME problems. With a ruptured disc, it doesn't help! Speaking from experience.

I've seen horses who have had treatment and it can make a big difference, and with an animal they don't understand, they just respond to the relief. I'd love to find a good chiropractor in our area to try on one of our mares with a spinal injury. The vets don't do anything for it.

Like anything, the person doing it makes the big difference so you have to trust the chiropractor you chose.
