Thanks for all your support and comments regarding the Rose Parade! :) We mostly got our costumes on-line or on EBAY from GermanWear or other web sites that sell Authentic Austrian Wear.. Tom and Connie had a lot of tack and costumes from Italy, where they have a lot of authentic Austrian stuff. Their bridles and Victoria's nose bands came from there. I bought one from Tom but it didn't fit my bit on my gelding so we couldn't use it after all.. so, I will have to fix it so we can use it. It was a lot of work-- and an expensive endeavor. So, we are pleased you all enjoyed it and we all survived! My husband and I never slept-- we helped stay up all night with my sister and the florist making all the flower arrangements, corsages, etc..and then attaching them. We still ran out of time and the light/generator on the freeway burned out so we had to do it all by one light attached to a propane tank, so most was done in the dark, which made it difficult and time consuming. I am so grateful for those who volunteered their New Year's Eve to come and help us make flowers and drive our vehicles when we took off to go to our staging area. I slept for 18 hours the next day!
