Never fed whole carrots, but I have fed carrot slices (cut on the bias! <g>). Now with two Haflingers to feed, they only get carrots when I juice carrot/celery--I get the juice, they get the shredded pulp. I probably could bake the shredded pulp into horse cookies, but they like a couple moistened alfalfa cubes and that is easier...
Judy in NE TN where it's so cold I made our 15yo corgi a dog coat and he loves it (won't let anyone but me put it on him! LOL).
