Honestly if she is a stocky mare with haflingers you really don't have to worry tooooooooo much about their hieght. more on their bone and build. To give you an example, here are some pictures of my mare Native Rosie who is 13hh on the dot. My best friend is riding her who is 6ft tall, and she is 9 month prego in the picture and weighs about 290lbs. Rosie started TROTTING with her with NO problem. Michelle said she felt so strong and didn't feel like she was 'to big' for her at all. Course she doesn't ride her on a reg basis, this was just to try to get her to go into labor as she was a week over due and they were going to induce her if she didn't have the baby. she Had the baby 3 days later! Riding is great excersice for the pregnant woman. :)

I am 5'2 and about 165lbs and Rosie is my main riding horse. I am sure your 'dream' mare will be just fine for you. Hafligners have a way of really picking up your legs with their width to make you not look like a giant on them.
