I don't know that I do believe it has to be one or the other. Middle of the road is good!
BTW:
"Classic" to me is middle of the road. It is what Haflingers should be, and are according to breed standards.
It does not mean "Drafty" (short, stout and cold blooded)
It does not mean "Modern" (tall, thin and hot blooded)
