[haflingerfriends] Laminitis

Anyone care to educate me on the finer points of Laminitis? I know the basics of what causes it and what it is and how to (hopefully) prevent it. It seems to me that I have read that once a horse has had a bout of it, it's more likely to recur? Is this true? I'd love ot hear some of your experiences.......

No, it's not Moxie. It's a 7 year-old Haflinger mare that I am considering. They tell me that she had one episode of it last spring and are saying it was probably the grass. Should I turn tail and run or is it worth checking her out anyway? Is there anything more specific that I should ask or does it even matter?

Thanks so much, in advance!!
Molly in Ohio who really needs another Haffie!
